Meerut: Bareilly police on Tuesday arrested two sisters and a male accomplice for running a job scam that duped unemployed youths of lakhs of rupees.
Operating in the Baradari police station area, Vipra Singh (29) and Shikha (30) posed as trainee IAS officers, ADMs, or SDMs, convincing victims they could secure govt jobs. Their confident manner helped them swindle several individuals.
The racket surfaced after four victims, including Preeti Loyal of Phaik Enclave, complained they had been cheated of ₹11.5 lakh. When jobs failed to materialise, the accused gave evasive replies.
Baradari SHO Vijendra Singh confirmed the arrests, while Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya said interrogation had yielded crucial leads about the gang’s methods. Police suspect a wider network and expect more victims to come forward.
All three accused will be produced in court, and additional charges may follow.
