The seventh edition of National Control Instrumentation System Conference, CISCON-2010, which is being organized by the department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, MIT, Manipal, will begin on Friday.

MANIPAL: The seventh edition of National Control Instrumentation System Conference, CISCON-2010, which is being organized by the department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, MIT, Manipal, will begin on Friday. Sumam David, professor and head of electronics and communications engineering, NITK, Surathkal, will inaugurate the two-day conference at the AC Seminar Hall, MIT at 9 am.

Manipal University, Registrar, G K Prabhu will be the guest of honour.
Briefing mediapersons, director MIT, KumKum Garg said, the conference is held every year to promote research in the university. She also said that effort would be made to bring international participants for the conference next year.
V I George, HoD of instrumentation and control engineering said the conference is a platform to enable scientists, academicians and researchers to interact and present the progress made in the field of instrumentation and control engineering and related areas. It also provides an opportunity to gain awareness of ongoing research and to for exchange of ideas. A number of papers will be presented during the two days. The papers received are in the areas of computer applications in modelling and simulations, automation and application of robots, fuzzy logic and neutral network etc.
The guest speakers invited are: C Jairaj Kumar, research coordinator, KS Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore, Sriraam Natarajan, professor HoD of biomedical engineering, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, Prof Pinto Pius, and HoD department of electrical and electronics engineering, St Joseph's College of Engineering Mangalore, and Sanjay Venugopal, technology specialist, Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore.
Some of the topics that would be discussed by the guest speakers are: Innovation-instrumentation ideas and guidance; Total control -- the big picture; Recent advances in biomedical signal and processing and instrumentation: Global Perspective; Clinical Diagnosis and other applications; Advanced process control technology current industry trends.
