Trader inscribes Rama Raksha Stotra on 476 rice grains

Mangaluru: Paramesh Sankrappa Bandi, a trader in spices from the temple town of Kukke, achieved an extraordinary feat of patience and precision by inscribing the entire Sri Rama Raksha Stotra on 476 grains of rice. Popularly known as ‘Micro Art Paramesh', he completed the task in 10 hours of continuous work, without the aid of spectacles.His remarkable micro-artistic skills allow him to complete an average of 20 to 30 characters on a single grain of rice in two minutes. Winner of Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records, Rajyotsava and several other awards, Paramesh earlier wrote Nadageethe, national anthem and Vande Mataram on rice grains. He was honoured with the District Rajyotsava Award 2025 by the Haveri district administration for inscribing Nadageethe on 136 rice grains in 120 minutes.He said that it is very difficult to write characters on rice grains precisely, and only those who have expertise, patience and good eyesight can achieve this. "Many use magnifying glass or wear spectacles while creating art or writing on rice grains. With naked eyes I have completed this feat by writing all the 38 shlokas of the Rama Raksha Stotra, which is a hymn of praise dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama. Though writing texts on rice grains is a tough task that requires exceptional skill, I take a maximum of two minutes to complete writing on one rice grain," he said.Recalling his previous achievements, Paramesh said that his next aim is to enter the Guinness World Records. "I am preparing to present my skill in micro art of inscribing on rice grains before the adjudicators of Guinness World Records, if approved," he said.The talented artist penned ‘Jana Gana Mana' in Kannada, Hindi and English, showcasing his exceptional skill in micro art. Similarly, he wrote the national anthem in three languages on rice grains. Paramesh said he wrote an average of two to six characters on each rice grain.
