Railway staff rescues passenger attempting to board moving train at Surathkal Railway Station

Mangaluru: A passenger attempting to board a moving train at Surathkal Railway Station narrowly escaped a mishap, thanks to the swift action of on-duty pointsman Jagadish and station master Manoj Shetty. The incident occurred on Wednesday as train No. 12134 Mangaluru Junction–CSMT Superfast Express was passing through the station.According to Konkan Railway authorities, the passenger slipped while trying to board the running train, but was rescued by Jagadish and Manoj Shetty. The passenger continued his journey on the same train after the incident. Recognising their prompt response, Konkan Railway chairman and managing director Santosh Kumar Jha announced a reward of Rs 5,000 each for Jagadish and Manoj Shetty.
