NMPT donates band set, water cooler to schools

MANGALORE: As part of New Mangalore Port Trust's commitment towards social welfare measures to neighbouring villages, a band set and water purifier was donated to Government High School, Meenakaliya and Government Lower Primary School, Baikampady respectively.
A press release from C Harichandran, secretary NMPT here on Monday stated P Tamilvanan, Chairman, NMPT handed over the band set and water purifier to the respective headmasters of both the schools recently.
Local corporator, headmasters, teachers, students, representatives from parent teachers association, and officers of the port were present. Tamilvanan stressed the need for imparting training in extra-curricular activities to the students in addition to their academics calendar. The school authorities expressed their gratitude to NMPT for donating gadgets like band set and water cooler, which are very essential for schools.
