Mangaluru: Mangalore University Blood Donors Group (MUBDG), a part of communication club, department of MCJ in association with PG Student's Council, Mangalagangothri and Indian Red Cross Society, will organize its fourth blood donation camp on April 5, at the University Health Centre from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Sushil Jathanna, vice-chairman, IRCS, Dakshina Kannada will inaugurate the camp. T D Kemparaju, registrar, Mangalore University will preside.

The group (MUBDG) is a voluntary forum of communication club of the department of mass communication and journalism of Mangalore University and was formed in 2013.

It consists of students, teachers and non-teaching staff of Mangalagangothri campus primarily aiming to provide fresh blood to needy people round the year free of cost. It also conducted three annual blood donation camps so far. This blood donation camp is the fourth in the series.

Three-day film festival

Department of mass communication and journalism, Mangalore University, will organize a three-day film festival from April 4 to 6 at the old senate hall, Mangalagangothri. Shashikanth Gatti, screen writer and film director, will inaugurate the festival. Critically acclaimed films as such as 'Bharath Stores' (P Sheshadri, Kannada), The Song of Sparrows (Majid Majidi, Iranian), Manjhi - The Mountain Man (Ketan Mehta, Hindi) will be screened during the festival. The films will be screened everyday at 5pm at the old senate hall. There is no entrance fee for the fest.
