Mangaluru City Police issues externment orders against seven

MANGALURU: In a bid to ensure smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha elections, the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate has implemented preventive measures to maintain peace and order. As part of it , externment orders have been issued under Karnataka Police Act, against seven individuals who have criminal background. The duration of the externment from Dakshina Kannada district is three months, said Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal.

Further, as a measure to maintain peace and ensure good behavior, security bonds for a period of one-year have been execued on 286 individuals who are habitual offenders and are likely to commit breach of the peace.

The commissioner said that externment orders have been issued on Preetham alias Abhilash from Ashoknagara, Hemanth alias Sonu from Urwa, Shivaraj alias Shivu from Kotekar, Edwin Rahul D’Souza alias Rahul from Lakshmi Gudde in Someshwara, Ibrahim from Melangadi in Ullal , Praveen Poojary from Kodikal 6th Cross and Mohamad Musthafa alias Musthafa from Belma in Deralakatte.

The commissioner said that there are six cases under various IPC Sections including NDPS Act against Preetham in Urwa, Kavoor, Mangaluru East police stations. There are four cases including under Arms Act against Hemanth in Urwa station. There are five cases against Shivaraj in Ullal and Kankanady town station. There are two cases against Edwin Rahul in Ullal station limits, four cases against Ibrahim in Ullal station, five cases against Praveen in Mangaluru East, Mangaluru South, Mysuru and Kavoor station. There are six cases against Mohammed Mustafa in Uppinangady, Bajpe, Moodbidri , Konaje station.
