MANGALORE: The Konkan Railway Administration has initiated stringent and deterrent disciplinary action against four delinquent employees, who not only caused pecuniary losses but also tarnished the image of the organization.
According to KR release, during a surprise check conducted by Vigilance Department of Konkan Railway against Ticket less Travellers travelling by 12133 Up CSTM - Mangalore Express on April 21 and 22, it was observed that on-duty Ticket Checking Staff, Prakash Bansode, Pravin Daware, Shailesh Sawant and Raghavendra Devadiga, were found sleeping in the train.

The release stated that Konkan Railway had received complaints from the general public and passengers about the careless, arrogant attitude and working of Ticket Checking Staff on Konkan Railway Trains.
In order to ensure that KR staff was performing their duties sincere and efficient manner, various preventive checks and surprise inspections were carried out. The above incident was noticed in one of those checks.
During this Check, 133 cases of unauthorized ticket less travel were detected by Vigilance Department, yielding an amount of Rs 60,000.
