MANGALORE: Health authorities in Dakshina Kannada administered polio drops to 2,326-children in the target age-group of zero to five years on January 22, final day of the four-day nationwide pulse polio immunisation drive. With this, they covered 1,66,153 out of 1,68,479 children in the target age-group, an overall coverage of 100.1%. Polio drops were administered to 1,50,842 children in the booth level activity held on January 19.

Authorities in neighbouring Udupi district too achieved 101.07 per cent success in this campaign. They administered polio drops to 89,146 children as against 88,199 children in the target age-group. A total of 83,977 children were administered polio drops in booth level activity. Udupi taluk registered 101.57% (41,995/41,345) success, Kundapur 101.97% (31,692/31,081) and Karkala 98.01% (15,459/15,773) success.
