MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated various facilities, including an outdoor gymnasium and children’s play equipment at the Kadri Park on Friday.
The project has come up at a cost of Rs 1.16 crore under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme of the central government, state government and Mangaluru City Corporation.

Kateel said while fitness enthusiasts who cannot afford air-conditioned gyms can keep themselves in shape at the new gym at the Kadri Park, the play area will enthral children. The walking track will provide an atmosphere conducive to daily walkers and joggers, he said. The gym comprises 22 equipments.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath, mayor Bhaskar Moily, corporator Premananda Shetty, Roopa D Bangera, Praveen Chandra Alva, Naveen D'Souza, Niveditha Shetty and Pooja Pai were present on the occasion.
