MANGALORE: The district police will seriously consider invoking stringent provisions of the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act against those involved in organized crime, IGP (Western Range) Gopal B Hosur said here on Sunday. Stating that police could not invoke its provision earlier as the special courts needed to deal with it had not been set up, he said now even this hurdle has been sorted out and police would use KCOCA.
Hosur said efforts would also be made to bring out red corner notices against wanted criminals Ravi Poojary and Bannanje Raja, who are controlling their crime syndicate locally from an unknown location, believed to be the Middle East or Gulf nations.
