MANGALORE: The St Aloysius PU College hall ticket row on Saturday took a twist with the college rector lodging a complaint against four students alleging that they had threatened the principal.
In his complaint, rector Fr Francis Serrao said a group of 30-40 barged into the college and threatened the principal. It added many were in an inebriated state and armed with sharp weapons.
The rector named four college students in the complaint. He also stated that principal John D'Silva received a threatening call from 9945559883, identifying himself from the university students union, demanding that a girl student be given the hall ticket -- failing which the principal would lose his life.
The rector requested the police to give adequate protection to the college and the principal, who has been targeted by anti-social elements.
Meanwhile, former student union leaders of All College Students' Union said that they would agitate in front of the college if the 12 students were not given hall tickets on Monday. They alleged that the principal had a personal grudge against 12 students, claiming that originally 33 students had not been given hall tickets but 21 of them were given later.
