Two boys on padayatra killed as car runs over them
Madurai: Two boys, who were on a padayatra to a temple were killed after a car ran over them in Tirunelveli district on Wednesday.The deceased boys were identified as V Vishwa, 12, and T Venish, 12, studying Class VII in Kadambankulamd.According to police sources, a group of devotees were going on a padayatra from Kadambankulam in Tirunelveli to a temple situated in Samithope in Kanyakumari district. When they were walking near Panagudi on the Tirunelveli-Kanyakumari highway, an overspeeding car driven by a woman A Bijola Komagal, 40, of Kanyakumari district ran over the boys.While Venish died on the spot, Vishwa died when he was being rushed to a nearby hospital. Komagal also sustained injuries. The Pazhavoor police have registered a case and are conducting investigations.
