Tamil Nadu: BJP functionary Sathish Kumar dies in scuffle

MADURAI: A BJP functionary died after he fell down to the ground during a scuffle with a few persons in Sivaganga district on Thursday night. Police sources said that there was no political motive or personal motive behind the incident.

Sathish Kumar,51, a BJP functionary, owns a two wheeler workshop in Sivaganga. Sathish Kumar and his employee Manibharathi had rented a room near the workshop to take rest. On Thursday night, Sathish Kumar was allegedly consuming alcohol along with his friend in the room. There was a quarrel between Sathish Kumar and a few men who were staying in a place near his room.

During a scuffle, Sathish Kumar fell down to the ground and became unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the Sivaganga government medical college hospital, however, the doctors declared that he was brought dead. The Sivaganga police are conducting an inquiry with the persons involved in the quarrel.
