Virudhunagar: Two district executive committee units of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) in Virudhunagar passed resolutions on Monday demanding a greater share in power and a higher allocation of seats in the upcoming elections.
The Virudhunagar West district meeting was held in the morning at Nehru Bhavanam in Rajapalayam under the leadership of district president V Rajmohan. The Virudhunagar East district unit met in the evening at a private hall on Virudhunagar Bypass Road, presided over by district president M Krishnamoorthy.

Executive committee members from across the district took part in the meetings.
Key resolutions adopted at both meetings included seeking a substantial share in power, allocation of more Assembly and local body seats, and a 30% share in local government in Tamil Nadu. The committees also resolved to press for the party to be allotted the constituencies it seeks in the electoral negotiations.
Similar resolutions were passed at a recent meeting of the Madurai South district executive committee at Thiruparankundram, presided over by Manickam Tagore.
