Postal voting for cops, election workers ends
Madurai: Postal voting for police officers and other departmental officers involved in election work and who are voters in an assembly constituency outside Madurai district, ended on Sunday evening.The facility was set up for workers in essential services, including Southern Railway, All India Radio, Airports Authority of India, BSNL, department of health and family welfare, Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and fire and rescue services department, and other departmental officers assigned for election duty and Tamil Nadu Police, who have submitted Form 12 for postal voting.The postal voting began on Saturday at Madurai Kamaraj University as well as the office of the returning or assistant returning officer in each constituency within Madurai and concluded for out-of-district workers on Sunday. The postal ballot service for those who are included in the electoral roll in constituencies within Madurai district, will conclude on Monday evening.
