Passenger swoons, dies in bus

Madurai: A man was found unconscious in a bus that reached Madurai from Oddanchatram on Sunday. He was rushed to the hospital in the same bus, but was declared brought dead.
The incident created flutter at the Mattuthavani bus terminal.
The deceased was identified as G Ramar, 48, son of Gurusamy of Vittalpatti near Peraiyur in Madurai district. When the bus reached the Mattuthavani integrated bus terminal, Ramar did not get down.The bus conductor G Gnanam, 55, made repeated calls to alert the passengers but he did not wake up. The conductor sensed something wrong and informed the driver. They decided not to wait for an ambulance rushed him to hospital. On the way, the conductor got Ramar's sister's number from his mobile phone and informed her. His family members rushed to the hospital, but by then Ramar had died.
The conductor filed a complaint with the Anna Nagar police station. The police registered a case and conducted an investigation.
