Minister commences campaign from oppn candidate’s turf

Madurai: Minister for commercial taxes and registration P Moorthy, who is once again contesting from Madurai East constituency, commenced his campaign on Wednesday from Mangulam village, the native place of his opponent and AIADMK candidate Mangulam K Mahendran.Before commencing his campaign, he, along with the DMK cadres, offered prayers at the Mandhai Karuppasamy Temple in the village. He then met the people and sought their support. Speaking to reporters, Moorthy said that DMK will win in all 10 constituencies in Madurai district. He later continued his campaign in other areas in his constituency.Similarly, incumbent MLA and AIADMK candidate for Madurai West constituency Sellur K Raju commenced his campaign on Wednesday. Speaking at the campaign, Raju emphasised his service to the people of Madurai West constituency by fulfilling their demands and resolving the issues faced by them. Stating that he is committed to continuing to serve the people, he sought the people to support him in this election. Meanwhile, AIADMK candidate of Madurai North constituency P Saravanan opened his election office in Narimedu on Wednesday.Deputy leader of the opposition and incumbent MLA R B Udhayakumar, who is contesting again from Thirumangalam constituency, continued his campaign for the third day in various areas in Kalligudi.
