Gandhigram bags national award

Madurai: The

Gandhigram Khadi

and

Village Industries Public Charitable Trust

has bagged the national award for the best

Khadi

institution in the southern zone for the year 2014-15 by the Khadi and

Village Industries Commission

(

KVIC

).

Gandhigram Trust K Shivakumar

said that S Rangasamy of the trust has also been selected as the best khadi weaver in the southern zone for the year 2013-14. "The trust is dedicating the award to Dr Soundram, Dr G Ramachandran, V Padmanabhan, V Krishnamurthi, all khadi workers and all other stakeholders who contributed their efforts for building the institution," he said. "Rangasamy who bagged the award for the best weaver, was a master weaver who had been with the trust for over three decades," Shivakumar said. TNN
