Dhanush film shoot stalled for want of nod
Madurai: The Tenkasi district administration on Tuesday stopped the shooting of Dhanush-starrer ‘Captain Miller’ for not taking permission from various departments for the filming. The film is being shot in Mathalamparai area but the crew have come under severe criticism for damaging the banks of Chenkulam canal that brings water to Old Courtallam Falls and to village tanks.

The crew were also accused of constructing a wooden bridge across the canal without PWD’s permission.
MDMK councillor Rama Udayasuriyan has warned of taking it up with the court as it is also disturbing wildlife since it is near the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. A bomb blast scene for the movie which went viral on social media recently had elicited strong reactions from the local people who alleged that the crew is shooting stunts without being sensitive to wildlife.
Under these circumstances, Tenkasi collector D Ravichandran ordered the temporary suspension of the film shooting. Sources said the crew didn’t obtain permission from the department of information and PR, district administration, PWD, fire & rescue and forest departments for blast sequences near forest area.TNN
