Daughter-in-law held for gold loot from DMK man’s house
Virudhunagar: In a dramatic twist to the burglary at the residence of DMK's Sattur assembly constituency candidate Kadarkarairaj, Sattur Town police arrested his daughter-in-law and two others on Monday for allegedly orchestrating it.The incident occurred on the night of April 13, when Kadarkarairaj was participating in an election campaign in Sathirapatti near Rajapalayam. Unidentified men broke into his house, taking advantage of the constant influx of party workers and visitors at the candidate's residence. The burglars looted 122 sovereigns of gold jewellery kept in a bureau.Virudhunagar district police formed a special team to track the culprits using CCTV footage. The breakthrough came when a history-sheeter, Arockia John Bosco, 40, surrendered before Sattur judicial magistrate on April 24. Bosco, hailing from Mudukulathur in Ramanathapuram, reportedly has 44 criminal cases pending against him, including murder, robbery and rape.During a three-day custodial interrogation, he reportedly confessed that he was hired for the job. His statements led the police to Abinaya, 30, the wife of Kadarkarairaj's elder son, Vinoth Kumar.
Police said Abinaya was estranged from her husband for the past few years and was allegedly in an extramarital relationship with Suresh Kumar, 31, the husband of her friend Bhavani, 30.Abinaya, who got information about money stacked in the candidate's house, allegedly conspired with Suresh Kumar and Bhavani to carry out the robbery. The trio hired Bosco and another person to execute the plan while the family was distracted by the election trail.Police arrested Abinaya, Suresh Kumar and Bhavani, and recovered 12 sovereigns of the stolen jewellery from them. While three of the primary conspirators are in custody along with one hired henchman, manhunt is underway to nab another accomplice.
