3 Madurai schools receive bomb threat mail
MADURAI: The Madurai city police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), conducted searches at several schools on Monday after three schools received alleged bomb threats via email.The schools which received the bomb threats, included PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 (CBSE), Narimedu, Jeevana School (ICSE), Ponmeni Jayanagar, and Velammal Vidyalaya Bodhi Campus (CBSE), Anuppanadi. Despite the threats, with Monday being a working day, hundreds of students attended school as usual.The city police, along with the bomb squad, searched the campuses of the schools, deploying sniffer dogs as well. However, after preliminary searches, sources reported that no explosives were found at any of the schools, and the bomb threats are suspected to be hoaxes.Further investigation was on.
