2 guest workers killed in bike-bus collision

Dindigul: Two guest workers from Bihar lost their lives in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday on the Madurai-Dindigul National Highway. The deceased, Krishna, 22, and Dilshul, 21, worked as construction workers in Oothupatti.Police said they were travelling towards Oothupatti on the national highway. A govt bus which was on its way to Pallapatti from Dindigul took a wrong route on the Dindigul-Madurai national highway as a vehicle had broken down near Chinnalapatti.When the two-wheeler was nearing Melakkottai Vinayakar temple, the bus which was coming in the wrong direction hit the two-wheeler head-on. The impact was so severe that both youths sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot before any assistance could reach them.Ambathurai police arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies from the mangled remains of the motorcycle and shifted them to Dindigul Govt Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Ambathurai police registered a case, and investigation is underway.
