LUDHIANA: A 22-year-old juice vendor was killed for Rs 20,000 which he had borrowed from one of the accused and had not returned. The person who lent him the money, who was the victim's friend, plotted his murder with another friend. Tibba Police arrested Dharminder Kumar and
Vikas Kumar, who also run a juice vend. The accused and the victim, Nilesh Kumar are from the same village in Bihar.
Nilesh Kumar had gone missing on September 17 and a missing complaint was filed by his father, Jeevan Paswan on September 19. Police registered a case against unidentified accused on September 27 under Section 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) of the IPC. During investigations, police got information that Nilesh was last seen with his friends Dharminder and
Vikas on September 17. They have been arrested.
DCP - Rural Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said, "The accused confessed to strangling Nilesh to death, stuffing his body in a gunny bag and dumping it in the Buddha Nullah at around 1am. The victim had borrowed Rs 20,000 from Dharmainder. Whenever Dharminder asked him to return the money, he would start fighting and abusing him. Later, Nilesh refused to return the money. Dharminder told his friend Vikas about it and they conspired to murder Nilesh."
