Youth Akali Dal workers protest against LIP MLA Simarjit Bains
LUDHIANA: A high level drama took place in ATI chowk where Youth Akali Dal workers had gathered to March towards the office of Lok Insaaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh Bains when cops stopped them at the chowk from moving ahead. The YAD workers had gathered to stage protest outside MLA office in Kot Mangal Singh for raising voice against MLA's assault over a widow. They had started moving from Dana Mandi towards his office but were stopped in between. The heated arguments took place between the YAD workers and cops. The YAD workers were taken away to Dehlon police station and were made to sit there for two hours but later on they were released. They alleged that Congress government was trying to save Bains because Bains works as its agent.The YAD district president Gurdeep Singh Gosha said that a woman has levelled serious allegations of rape against Simarjit Singh Bains but police has not taken any action. Gurdeep Singh Gosha said that Congress government is supporting MLA Simarjit Singh Bains and they have to protest demanding action against Bains. Gosha said that Bains has committed fraud with many people, he is involved in power theft and sexually exploited many women. The people were silent due to political links of Bains with Congress government but now the people have starting raising voice.
