An undertrial from Jagraon, who is presently lodged in Kapurthala Jail, facing more than a dozen charges of loot tried to escape from police custody from outside local court complex on Monday.

LUDHIANA: An undertrial from Jagraon, who is presently lodged in Kapurthala Jail, facing more than a dozen charges of loot tried to escape from police custody from outside local court complex on Monday. Police sources said Kulwant Singh, 40, of Lopon Kalaan in Jagraon was brought here by Jalandhar police to appear in the court.
Kulwant asked the policemen to take him to bathroom where he attempted to escape but was caught, sources added. Sources said head constable Tarlochan Singh deployed at the court caught hold of the accused and handed him over to his colleagues.
