Two died one injured in fire incident
LUDHIANA: Two people died while one person received burnt injuries during a fire incident in a unit dealing with cycle spare parts in Sewakpura, Dera Kalsian Dhuri line on Monday morning. Though fire incident was not that major as fire officials controlled the fire in one hour after reaching the spot but fire officials suspected that death may be due to inhaling the smoke and burnt injuries were not major on their bodies when taken out of the unit.
According to the fire officials on Monday morning at around 11 am they came to know about the fire in the unit and fire tenders were rushed to the spot. As the fire officials reached there, nearby people informed them that one person was injured in the fire and owner of the unit took him to the hospital. The fire officials were not informed about the presence of any other person inside. The fire came under control in almost one hour and when they entered the unit to check premises two people were found dead near washroom.
The assistant divisional fire officer Maninder Singh shared that they had no clue about anybody inside and they came to know about them when firemen entered the unit. He said they are suspecting death due to asphyxiation because nobody heard them screaming from inside. He said they sent the bodies to hospital after informing the police.
