Two-day police remand for two councillors

Meanwhile, supporters of the councillors carried out a protest near the Ludhiana police commissioner's office who assured them a free and fair investigation in the case.

Independent councillors Daljeet Singh Grewal and Gurpreet Singh along with many other unidentified people were booked for an alleged attempt to murder, snatching and rioting following a violent clash with the supporters of Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Ranjeet Singh Dhillon.
The clash started following a dispute between the leaders over the inauguration of the road construction project in the Shakti Nagar area. Several persons were injured in the clash.
