Tearful adieu to Rajbir by his family

LUDHIANA: Family members bid a tearful adieu to Rajbir on Sunday morning. The body of Rajbir, who was murdered in Australia, had reached Ludhiana late on Saturday night.
Tears and emotions spilled all around as his body was taken to the cremation ground near Gau Ghat on Sunday morning. The relatives had brought his body from Delhi Airport where his body had reached on Saturday morning.However, the body reached Ludhiana around 11 pm on Saturday.
Whereas the death of Rajbir was a rude shock for the family members, the wait for his body was an added torture though they felt that as compared to the other cases it took less time for the body to reach India owing to the intervention of the Central government on the request from Member Parliament Manish Tewari.
??Nothing can fill void that has been created by the death of my son. I had given everything that I had for his education and his settlement abroad. Now, we are left with nothing at all as we have lost him. I will have to start from the scratch to settle my family again and I do not know how I would do it,'' said his father Kulwant with tears rolling down his cheeks.
Rajbir's younger sister Dolma, who is an undergraduate was still unable to come out of feeling of helplessness that she experienced when she received a call from Rajbir and he informed that he was being chased by two Englishmen whose intentions he was doubtful. Then came the information that from the hospital authorities that he was very serious and was on ventilator. No different is the situation of his younger brother Prabhjeet Singh.
Kulwant, who owns a small general store, had sent Rajbir, with much difficulty to Australia in December, 2007, owing to the financial constraints. It was there that after having completed his hotel management course from an institute in Melbourne he was finally settled in Brisbane where he was reportedly attacked and seriously injured leading to his death.
