Robbers drill into Ludhiana factory for midnight metal raid.

Ludhiana: Police are hunting for two sophisticated burglars who breached a locked industrial facility in Dhandari Kalan by drilling through an external wall before making off with a heavy haul of aluminium.The midnight "hole-in-the-wall" gang managed to bypass standard security entrances, escaping with a dozen sacks of industrial goods and specialized machinery. Despite being captured on surveillance, the suspects remain at large as investigators struggle with poor-quality footage.A Structural BreachThe heist was discovered on Monday morning when workers arrived to find a gaping hole in the factory's outer masonry. According to the Sahnewal police, the suspects spent hours drilling through the wall to gain access to the production floor while the facility was unmanned. "The accused barged into a locked factory at night by drilling a hole in the outer wall," said assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gurdev Ram, the investigating officer. "Once inside, they targeted high-value raw materials and essential equipment."The Missing InventoryVinod Kumar, a factory supervisor and the primary complainant, reported that the inventory of stolen items includes 12 sacks of aluminium goods representing a significant portion of the site's raw materials, besides fluid-carrying machine, a critical piece of industrial equipment used in the manufacturing process. The total financial loss is still being calculated as the factory management conducts a full audit of the remaining stock.Sahnewal police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for house trespassing, theft, and criminal acts committed with common intention. While CCTV cameras recorded the two men during the act, the graininess of the footage has so far prevented a positive identification. "The police have obtained one CCTV recording, but the footage is not clear enough," ASI Ram noted. "We are currently scanning secondary cameras in the area to trace the suspects' escape route."
