Road repair work starts in 2 areas

Ludhiana: The civic officials kicked off construction of a road in Sunder Nagar area. Kirpal Nagar road would also be reconstructed under the project. The project to reconstruct roads is being taken up at a cost of Rs 84 lakhs. Apart from benefitting residents living in these areas, these projects would also prove beneficial for the hosiery industry in the area.MLA Ashok Prashar who inaugurated the work said roads were in bad condition and he had taken up the issue with the civic body officials. The project to reconstruct the above stated roads has been commenced and the authorities have been directed to keep a check on the quality aspect. He said they are also working to redevelop a number of parks in the area and continuous efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure.He said strict action will be taken against the contractors or officials concerned, if there is any compromise on the quality of works.

Shoddy work made civic body repeat patchwork on 25 roads

Pothole repairs carried out by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in India have come under scrutiny as the repaired potholes on 25 stretches have deteriorated within five months. The NMC conducted repetitive roadwork on these stretches, with some locations requiring repairs multiple times. The poor quality of repairs, resulting in humps and loose materials, has raised concerns about accountability and adherence to guidelines. Prashar, MC chief ask officials to expedite work

MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi from Ludhiana Central constituency held a meeting with municipal corporation officials to expedite development works in the city, including road works and park revamps. They also discussed the project to cover Shivaji Nagar nullah and emphasized regular cleaning. Prashar warned of action against contractors causing delays. In other news, the Orissa High Court has asked the Archaeological Survey of India to urgently repair a cracked beam in the Puri Jagannath Temple, while Deputy CM Ajit Pawar pledged funding for various development works in Kolhapur. Shopkeepers fret as rain disrupts road repair work

The road reconstruction work in the Model Town gole market in Ludhiana has been delayed due to rainfall, leaving shopkeepers concerned about the quality and durability of the road. The Ludhiana Improvement Trust chairman assured that the repair work will be completed in a timely and high-quality manner. The road repair work in Gole market had faced criticism earlier, with an activist filing a complaint to the Punjab State Human Rights Commission. The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation in Kolkata has also faced delays in road repairs due to rain and a shortage of funds.
