Punjab: Som Parkash thanks Nitin Gadkari for nod to 4-lane road link

JALANDHAR: Union minister of state Som Parkash on Wednesday thanked Road, Transport and Highway minister Nitin Gadkari for approving the proposal for four-laning of the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road link.

Gadkari had tweeted about the approval and project details on Tuesday. Som Prakash said he had written to Gadkari about the project on September 8.

He said it would bring major relief to the commuters. The 48.622 km stretch is expected to be complete in two years at an estimated cost of Rs 1,553.07 crore. The project will be developed on the Hybrid Annuity Model.

The corridor starts from NH-44 near Jamalpur in Phagwara and ends at NH-503A at Hoshiarpur. After completion, it would provide faster connectivity between NH-44 and NH-503A (Amritsar-Tanda-Una axis), said Som Prakash.
