LUDHIANA: After Khanna police arrested the bodyguard of
Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh from Malaud area on Wednesday evening, it claimed that he has made 'startling' disclosures about Khalistan including the state emblem and logo of the proposed state and emblem of several provinces within the proposed state etc.
Addressing media persons at Khanna, SSP Khanna, Amneet Kondal said that analysis of his phone showed photos and videos of the state emblem and logo of the proposed Khalistan state, emblem of several provinces in of proposed Khalistan state including Kapurthala, Patiala, Jhind etc.
She added that analysis of the phone also revealed about currency bills (10 dollar Khalistani dollars) of proposed Khalistan state, Hologram logo of AKF (Anandpur Khalsa Fauj), members of AKF with weapons, videos of handling and loading of firearms and firing practice to youngsters at makeshift firing range near Jallupur Kheda Canal.
The SSP said that these youngsters were later recruited in AKF. She added that a driving license photo of a Pakistani national was also found on the phone of the accused.
"The incriminating material shows the sinister designs of this nascent militia force AKF and the enormous threat they would have become to the peace and harmony of Punjab and national security. All of this has been averted by the timely action of Punjab police," the senior police officer said. "Further investigation is going on and forward as well as backward linkages are being established," she added.
The accused was in close proximity to Amritpal during the Ajnala incident and also accompanied him in Khalsa Vaheer.
"He is privy to all the anti-national activities and information about close associates of Amritpal," she said adding that during the investigation, he has revealed that all members of AKF were assigned belt numbers. eg AKF 3, AKF 56, AKF 47, may be based on seniority/proximity to Amritpal.
"Analysis of 2 Whatsapp groups – AKF and Amritpal Tiger Force - has revealed that the members were paid salaries by Amritpal Singh. The members comprised of youngsters who came for de-addiction (Like
Tejinder Singh Gorkha) and were later indoctrinated and given martial and weapon training, including firing practice" she added.
"Gurbhej Singh @ Bheja arranged 10 bullet-proof jackets 2 months back (marked as AKF). He also gave weapon training and martial training to newly inducted members of Waris Punjab De at a makeshift firing range at Jallupur Kheda. Videos of members showing expertise in weapon handling, assembling, disassembling, and cleaning have been recovered," SSP said.
"Harsimrat Singh Hundal @ Labh Singh @ Tiger was responsible for the security supervision of Amritpal. He took care of the weapons and assigned them on a day-to-day basis to members of the close protection team. All weapons and bullet-proof jackets had Hologram AKF imprinted on them. Some weapons even had long-range telescope affixed on them."
