LUDHIANA: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School organized an inter-school declamation competition on Friday. Thirty two participants of different schools expressed their views on burning social issues in English and Punjabi. Professor Gurbhajan Singh Gill, president of Punjabi Sahitya Academy and a Punjabi poet, judged the participants and gave prizes to the winners.
The first prize in English was bagged by Pooja Sharma of BCM, second prize went to Arushi Bhatani of BVM and Arpit Kaur of GGN Public School won the third prize.
In Punjabi first prize was clinched by Manveen Kaur of GGN Public School. Second prize was bagged by Navkaran Singh of BCM and third prize went to Karanvir Singh of DAV, Pakhowal Road.
Nakul Aggarwal of KVM School and Ekampreet Kaur of BVM School were awarded consolation prizes for English and Punjabi categories respectively. BCM School lifted the overall trophy and DAV School took the runners up trophy went to DAV school.
