Patiala: Rajpura continues to be coronavirus hotspot, 6 new cases reported

town of Patiala district, the sub-divisional headquarters continuous to be the

hotspot

for the spread of the virus in the home district of CM Captain Amarinder Singh.

on Saturday said health team teams working in Rajpura had collected 12 samples on Friday which had been sent for testing at the Government Rajindra Hospital, the reports that were received on Saturday confirming that six persons had contracted the virus in Rajpura.

With the new cases, the total number of corona positive persons in Patiala has risen to 61. So far 19 cases have been reported from Patiala city, while the remaining have been reported from Rajpura town.

Patiala deputy commissioner Kumar Amit said an all-out effort was being made to curtail the spread of disease in Rajpura for which a buffer zone has been created around the municipal limits of the town and movement of all sorts has been restricted.
