Ludhiana: Khanna police bust 2 interstate gangs; 8 arrested

LUDHIANA: Two interstate gangs, Bengali and Musa, which were involved in 64 ATM break-ins and 26 cases of snatching in Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have been busted by the Khanna police in Punjab's

Ludhiana district

on Sunday.


The police arrested eight members of the Bengali and Musa gangs who were involved in numerous cases of robbery, loot, burglary, theft, and ATM break-ins.

The accused have been identified as Ramesh Kumar alias Bengali, Hardeep Singh alias Musa, Shakti Kumar alias Raju, Binder Singh alias Bindri, Amandeep Singh alias Rinku, Manoj Kumar alias Shottu, Sikander Khan alias Khan, all of Ahmedgarh in Sangrur, Manpreet Singh alias Manu. Three others - Daljit Singh alias Laddu, Varinder Singh alias Binder and Iran Khan of Rajasthan - fled away.

They also recovered weapons, vehicles apart from the Rs 3.5 lakh cash from the accused. Two LPG cylinders, two gas cutters, a black spray bottle, a sewing ranch, an opener of oxygen cylinder and pliers which were used by them for cracking the ATMs during robbery were also retrieved from them.

DIG Ludhiana Range Ranbir Singh said the Punjab police have launched a special operation.
