LUDHIANA: Police DAV Public School, Civil Lines, a traffic club for its students on Tuesday.
A special investiture assembly was organized to designate 25 students from Class VI to X with the title of chief traffic warden, deputy traffic wardens and traffic wardens. This was followed by an oath- taking ceremony in which the members of the club pledged to follow traffic rules and also inspire others to follow the same.
ACP (traffic) Richa Agnihotri, while addressing the students, said the motive behind launching such traffic clubs in the school was to sensitize the students regarding traffic rules with the vision to make them safe, responsible and aware drivers in future.
She advised the students to use helmets, seat belts and avoid mobile phones while driving and ask the children to carry this message home for their parents. Sukhdev Singh, assistant sub-inspector of traffic police, said the students were also given information about road signs.
