LUDHIANA: Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin paid her maiden visit to Ludhiana on Monday, at a Ficci Flo event, where she held a conversation with over 200 Ficci women.

Talking about her visit to the industrial town, she said, “I have been to Chandigarh many times. My first movie ‘Dev D’ was shot a little bit in Punjab, but this is my first visit to Ludhiana. The experience was fantastic. I have been eating well as I had good Punjabi food. The people of Punjab are sweet, hospitable and loving.”

When asked by the audience what freedom meant to her, she said it was simply an ability to choose. She said although she’s French and born and brought up in a small village near Pondicherry, she has a ‘brown heart’ and is very much Indian by heart and soul. She also shared about her new projects like the second season of ‘Made in Heaven’ and a short film with Deepti Naval on mother-daughter relationship.

Giving a message to women, she said, “I don’t think women need messages, but it’s men who need messages. Women, every time, are told what to do, however they do not want this.”
