LUDHIANA: To create craze for internetinterest and knowledge among students, Google’s E- van is in the city,visiting different schools. Teachers, schools and students are on cloud nine asthey are being taught how to make project interesting simply by surfing internetby no one else but people from the biggest search engine itself.OnWednesday, the van reached the campus of BVM Senior Secondary School, UdhamSingh Nagar, after teaching students of Government School, PAU on Tuesday. Thestudents happily lapped up all the basic knowledge that was offered to them.There were told how internet could help them perform better in their studies andproject work. Students of class IX and X were shown how to surfinternet. Gurpreet Kaur one of the students said, “Although everybodythese days know how to use internet, finding out details from internet byputting key words in the search window is something which we miss out sometimeand we were guided properly here.”Talking on the same linesAbhishek, another student of the school, said, “It was indeed very good,after seeing such programmes one is actually compelled to think that the entireworld is just a click away.”The bus has already been to SouthIndia, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and on Satuday after covering the entire cityit would start moving towards Jalandhar, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Bathinda andKapurthala. Project Organizer Jagjit Singh Chawla said, “Ourmotive is to connect everybody with this high tech world. In this world if onedoes not have knowledge about internet he would soon be known as an illiterateperson.” He said, “We are here in the city till Saturday, and tillthen we would be covering most of the schools and colleges so that if anystudent has any problem related to internet s/he could approach usdirectly.”Notably, there were five internet project PC and ata time 30 children were be guided simultaneously.
