From Russia with love

LUDHIANA: It's been close to a month since Fendi came into the life of Maliks in Gurdev Nagar and they just can't stop gushing over her. Fendi is their Chinese breed shih tzu dog that the family imported from Russia in July. And with her long silky hair and calm ways, Fendi has got the family all tangled up in her love.
Satish Malik, the pet's owner, said everyone in the family spends most of their time with Fendi."When we travel to different places also we keep an eye out for accessories or toys for Fendi. Some days ago I was in New Delhi and saw cute rubber bands in the market when the idea clicked to buy them for Fendi so I got them. I also bought her some toys to play with at home,'' he said.
Proud about his pet's rare breed, Satish proudly tells that he paid around Rs 1.25 lakh to get Fendi imported. "I wanted a cute looking dog and had been surfing the internet for information when I found out about shih tzu. It is a rare breed that originated in China and are also found in Russia. After consulting various veterinary doctors I decided it is the breed I want. I am so glad I got Fendi...it is nice to have an uncommon breed at home,'' he added.
Satish's wife Khawaish said Fendi does not go out yet since she is very young. "She likes to spend most of her time in front of the AC, is very intelligent and responds well to our commands. Many friends and neighbours come over to see her and we are only too happy to flaunt her,'' she said.
