Designs on you

Barely six months old on the fashion scene in the city, Isha Arora is glad people are open to experiments. Now, she can be herself and create, she tells Sherry Aggarwal
Though Isha Arora's fashion sense always floored people, she first thought of becoming a fashion designer when she visited the fashion street in Paris in the yewar 2009. She was pursuing her first year of B.Com from Aurobindo College then.Five years on, she owns a designer label.
"I always knew I could create designs. I would dress up very casually in everyday life, but people complimented me for my taste whenever I would get ready for occasions," shared the 24-year-old from Model Town.
Done with BCom, Isha joined a fashion institute in Pune to pursue a degree in fashion design. The girl bagged top positions throughout her stint there. Soon after her graduation, Isha went to Mumbai to research on fashion and finally she got the opportunity to learn under her one of favourite designers, Harpreet Narula, in Delhi.
This February, she returned to the city to start her journey as a designer in her hometown and has done an independent fashion show in Sarabha Ladies Club.
The collection impressed fashionistas in city; Isha started with a bang. And while it has been just six months into business, the girl has her hands full.
"I am so glad about the way the city received my designs. People across age groups are now coming to me to get their clothes designed," says she whose forte is Indo-western. Rather than going all ethnic, Isha prefers fusion of different styles as that gives her room for experiment.
Talking further about the reception, she says, "It is so heartwarming to see that people understand what I am saying. They are ready to experiment and open to suggestions. They show faith in me."
Her job keeps her on the lookout for newer stuff, fabrics, designs, etc. So, unsurprisingly, she calls window shopping her favourite hobby.
Besides that, Isha loves to go for swimming, cycling and yoga at Satluj Club to keep her fit and look vibrant. The girl believes in natural exercises and hates gymming. Going out for movies and coffee with friends is what rejuvenates her after a hectic day at work.
A keen traveller, she often finds herself going uphill or by the beaches. Her trip to Milan, Paris and London is most cherished as these places are known as Mecca of fashion designers.
This energetic girl does not want to be a part of rat race and aims to make her own style statement known to world, one day.
