Ludhiana: Expressing displeasure over the budget 2016, cycle industrialists have demanded relief from the union government citing the recession industry is going through. Members of United Cycle and parts manufacturers association (UCPMA) who conducted a meeting after budget have decided to send a charter of their demands to the government.

Putting forward the viewpoint of his association, Charanjit Vishivkarma,president of UCPMA said,"Government should support the Bicycle Industrialist as we manufacture pollution free mode of transprotation for a green environment. Over the years the demand for Ludhiana based cycles & parts has fallen and so have our margins.But nothing has been done by the Government to support us. Even this budget has failed miserably to address issues like Increase in Import Duty, abolition of 2% of Excise duty on our industry and formation of Steel Regulatory Committee"

He also informed," No facility for MSME Units is being provided by the Government due to which the industries are closing down on regular basis by which the Government is also loosing revenue and unemployment is being generated. We have decided to send a memorandum containing demands of our industry to the finance minister and ministry of micro small and medium enterprises (MSME)"

Other businessmen present on this ocassion included Inderjit Singh Navyug, Rajinder Singh Sarhali, Achhru Ram Gupta, Avtar Bhogal, Bunty Malhotra, Manmohan Singh Marton, Satinderjit Singh Autom, Pradeep Wadhwan & Valaity Ram.
