LUDHIANA: City students have fought a close fight and grabbed all three top ranks in Panjab University's BCA I year result. Gopi Sharma has scored 82.87% and bagged the first position in the university. Close behind is Deepika Jain, who has taken the second rank with 82.5% followed by Arshdeep Kaur and Reema Garg, who are sharing the third position with 82.38%.
Gopi, a student of SCD Government College, said being on the top is not at all easy. ''I am lucky too because those who are on the second or third positions are not at all far behind,'' he said. A resident of New Janta Nagar, Gopi's mind is clear about the goal he is moving towards. He wants to work in an multinational company as an IT professional, said Gopi.
Deepika's approach to exams was to study as diligently as she could and then leave things to God. ''I gave it my best shot and didn't worry about anything after that,'' said Deepika, a student of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women. The topper, who stays in Sunder Nagar, said she used to revise lessons on a monthly basis and did not stop investing time in extracurricular activities like dance and music.
Khalsa College-student Arshdeep Kaur said she could be among the toppers because of being regular apart from working hard. ''To the best of my abilities I did not miss classes and even got 95% attendance. I used to pay careful attention in class also,'' said Arshdeep. Fond of seeing daily soaps and cartoons Arshdeep said she stopped watching TV to get a rank in the results.
Reema, who also studied in Khalsa College, belongs to Sangrur district and was a hosteller in the city. About her classmate Arshdeep said, ''We had a healthy competition between us and it is interesting that we have got the same rank. Though Reema is not here to celebrate together, I know that she is very happy too.''
