“My brother Charanjit Singh Channi and Congress senior leaders had tried to convince me to drop my plan to contest from the seat. The party is trying to compensate me. They know injustice has been done to me, as I was a strong contender. I had served the people in this constituency through my NGO, but I was denied the ticket”, said Manohar. Congress candidate and sitting MLA Gurpreet Singh GP said, “CM Channi should intervene and stop his brother from contesting as independent candidate so that Congress can form the government. The decision of the party should be accepted by all cadres.”
