700 more patients attend medical camp

The medical camp organized by the health department at Gurdwara Kalgidhar in Doraha on Monday saw more than 700 patients turning up with their health problems caused due to inhalation of ammonia gas.

LUDHIANA: The medical camp organized by the health department at Gurdwara Kalgidhar in Doraha on Monday saw more than 700 patients turning up with their health problems caused due to inhalation of ammonia gas.
On Sunday, there were 350 patients who had come to the camp.
The total number of patients taken ill has crossed 1,500.
Payal SMO Dr JP Singh said the number of new patients who came on Monday crossed 700.

Dr Sarika who was on duty at the camp said none of the patient who visited the camp was seriously affected and mostly suffered from sore throat, respiratory problems, headache and irritation in eyes.
Meanwhile, following a story by TOI on nine patients getting treatment in Rajwant Hospital in Doraha, the district administration has approached the hospital to give free treatment to victims. "We have informed the hospital authorities about the free treatment to be given to these patients and have also made an arrangement for their medicines and other needs," informed additional deputy commissioner, Payal, Ajay Sood.
