7-year-old dies of electric shock

A seven-year-old boy died after being electrocuted while his ten-year-old friend was burned when he accidentally touched a high-voltage wire passing over their house. The boy has been identified as Mankirat Singh, son of Gurbej Singh of Baddowal village. The injured boy is Amanpreet Singh, son of Satnam Singh of Dakha village. Police said that Mankirat was playing on the terrace of the house while his friend was sitting nearby doing homework. Mankirat came in contact with the high-voltage wire passing above and suffered a massive electric shock. His friend rushed to save him, but Mankirat died while his friend suffered burn injuries. The injured boy is out of danger. Police have advised people to be cautious of such wires while walking on the terrace or other places in the foggy weather.

Ludhiana: A minor boy died of electrocution while his friend suffered burn injuries after he accidentally touched a high-tension wire passing over his house at Baddowal village on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as seven-year-old Mankirat Singh, son of Gurbej Singh of Baddowal and his injured friend is ten-year-old Amanpreet Singh.
Police said that Mankirat was playing on the terrace of the house while his friend Amanpreet was sitting nearby, doing homework.

While playing, the child came in contact with the high-tension wire passing above and suffered a massive electric shock. At this, his friend rushed to save him. Mankirat died while Amanpreet suffered burn injuries. He was rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
SHO, Dakha police station, inspector Daljit Singh said that the injured boy is out of danger. Police have advised people to cautious of such wires while walking on the terrace or other places in the foggy weather. tnn
