22-year-old man dies during treatment, kin create ruckus

Ruckus after loco pilot killed in road accident

An assistant loco-pilot in Kanpur died after being hit by a speeding vehicle. Fellow employees accused the police of negligence and criticized the department for assigning the pilot duty in an unsafe area. The police managed to pacify the workers and sent the body for autopsy. The railway department was also criticized for building a station in a jungle area without basic facilities. Another group of railway employees protested the death by stopping a train for 45 minutes. The matter was resolved after senior officials assured workers that the loco-pilot lobby would be restored.
