3 employees arrested for duping employer of goods

LUDHIANA: Three employees of a hardware store were arrested for duping their employer of goods. The accused, while going for delivery, would load extra goods without informing the employer, and would sell it further for personal profit. The accused have been identified as

Kapil Singh

of

Dhandhra Road

, Bali Singh of

Basant Nagar

, and Rupesh of Atam Nagar.

A case under Section 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) of the IPC was registered against the accused at SBS Nagar police station. In his complaint to police,

Pankaj Garg

of Durgapuri in Haibowal stated that he owned a hardware store in Punjab Mata Nagar. The accused were his employees for the past 10 years. He added that during delivery to customers, his employees would load extra material without his knowledge, and later sell it in the market for personal profit.

The employer came to know about it when he matched the stock. He made a complaint to the police, after which the accused fled. In-charge at CIA-I Inspector

said the police arrested the accused from

Pakhowal Road

on Tuesday, while they were ferrying stolen material to the market in a pick-up auto. The police recovered five electronic chimneys, one gas stove, three door handles, one chef locker, one wash basin, a steel dustbin, channel drawer, and eight door closers from their possession. A police official said they would also take action against those who used to buy the stolen things from the accused.
