2 men lose ₹22k cash, phone to snatchers

Ludhiana: Ludhiana city police on Tuesday registered two cases in which two men were robbed of cash and mobile phone.In the first case, a factory worker who was walking back home after day’s work was robbed of his mobile phone and Rs 12,000 cash by two men on a scooter. Shiv Sahni of Vijay Nagar said he was walking back home from the factory based in Tibba road, when two men intercepted him. They thrashed him and snatched his phone and cash.ASI Jeevan Singh from Tibba police station said police have identified one of the accused as Saurav Kumar of New National Colony. Police have lodged an FIR against the accused. Further probe is under way to arrest the other accused.In another case, Haibowal police booked two men for beating up a pick-up van driver and robbing him of Rs 10,000 in cash. Complainant Niaaz of Ranjodh Park said he was returning home after work when two miscreants stopped him near Aare Wali Gali. They overpowered him, thrashed him and robbed him of Rs 10,000. He said one of the accused Madhav was known to him with whom he has a fight over some issue. Haibowal police registered a case against the accused in this matter.
