AAP will spread like ‘Raktbeej’ if you vote for them: UP CM Yogi Adityanath
LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday likened the Aam Aadmi Party to ‘raktabeej’ (a demon known for his ability to multiply himself whenever he bled).
Addressing his first rally in Delhi this election season, Yogi claimed that the party will spread like raktbeej, if you vote for them and pose a threat to the unity and integrity of India. Yogi said that the party was formed on the basis of a protest by Anna Hazare to expose Congress’s corruption but now, they had aligned with the same party to contest elections.
AAP has no development agenda, turned Delhi into a hell: Yogi
"All the leaders of the party, from top to bottom are corrupt and they have turned Delhi into a hell, devoid of basic amenities and cleanliness. AAP leaders have no development agenda and have unleashed riots in the national capital,” the CM claimed, accusing AAP of having organised anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Shaheen Bagh and “ignited riots in Delhi”.
The INDIA bloc, he further claimed, were linked to people who were engaged in anti-India activities in Punjab and openly praised Pakistan. The CM dared Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who was recently released on bail in the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam, to compare the condition of Delhi with that of Ghaziabad and Noida in UP, saying that even with a population of 2.25 crore in Delhi as compared to 24 crore in UP, the disparity in development between the two was evident.
He said: “They consistently make hollow promises while getting embroiled in fresh corruption scandals every day. These are the same individuals who obstructed progress during the construction of the Delhi-Meerut 12-lane expressway. Despite the Central govt resorting to legal action, AAP refused to cooperate. They also hindered the advancement of the Rapid Rail project, which previously reduced travel time from Meerut to Delhi to 4 hours. They also impeded the progress of Metro construction in Delhi, which commenced during the tenure of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”
The CM said that members of the INDI Alliance were afraid of bulldozers in UP. He claimed that they were aware of UP’s effective measures against rioters which had crushed mafia and rioters, because of which there had been no riots in UP in last seven years. “These individuals used to claim that if the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict was issued, there would be riots and bloodshed. However, not only have there been no riots, even Namaz is not performed on the streets, and loudspeakers have been removed from mosques,” he said.
Appealing for votes for the BJP candidate, the CM said that if the people of Delhi did not cast their votes wisely and elected Kejriwal and his team, they would force Delhiites “into sweeping streets”. He urged people to avoid making choices that would create problems for everyone and called for unity to support those who have worked for Ram and who would focus on Mathura next.
